But in all seriousness, I posed this question in our chat last week:

What would be your brand’s go-to karaoke song?

This question is silly on the surface, but one that can tell you a lot about how your brand can show up in the world.

Would you sing a heartfelt ballad that tugs at the heartstrings?

An anthem that gets people fired up?

Or, as one responder put it, would it embolden folks to stay true to themselves?

After a week of thinking about it, I’m calling it. My brand’s karaoke song is all-american bitch by Olivia Rodrigo.

Here’s why:If you’re a business owner (or a person existing on this planet), you’ve probably felt boxed in at some point or other by what you should do. There’s a lot of noise about what success looks like. And maybe, at some point, you’ve chased someone else’s version of it (ask me how I know).I say fuck that.

Give them the middle finger and build your business your way.
