Brand Writing Prompt #004

ICYMI, I started calling you, my biggest supporters, Burnouts. I mean it in the most loving way. And my friends Lex Roman and Devin Lee got it—immediately.

And this got me thinking of my second favorite karaoke song, Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus. My first favorite? Sleep Now in the Fire by Rage Against the Machine. (P.S. You can find all my favorites here.)

And I know I ask a lot of music-related questions (you can take me out of the spin studio, but you can’t take the spin studio out of me…that’s the saying, right?), but I’ve got one more for you.

This Week’s Brand Writing Prompt

Picture this.

You’re stepping onto a stage to give your TED Talk.
Or walking to the pitcher’s mound to throw the opening pitch for your favorite team.
Or maybe you’re striding into your boss’s office to deliver your resignation.

What’s the walkout song playing in the background? The one that gets you hyped and lets everyone else know, oh yeah, that’s so-and-so stepping up.

Write about:

🎵 The song you choose
🎵 The mood in the room when you walk out
🎵 Does the song get the crowd pumped or pull them into their feelings?
